No pain no gain?

What kind of pain are we talking about when we say no pain no gain? When we are working out, we tend to have that pain most of us like to feel, because we know we are hitting the muscles correctly. For a lot people, they can tell the difference between a muscle pain while working out for that intended area, vs a joint, stretch, or even tear pain. Lets say you are doing squats for example: while you are doing them, you feel a little pain in the knees or ankles. Well, you assume you have weight on so it just must be from working harder. Of course, you do not want to feel pain in your knee or ankles at all. This can easily be from improper form, such as not putting the pressure on your heels as much. So when we say no pain no gain, that kind of pain will get you more injured and less gains. Always be careful especially if you are starting out. If you know the muscles that you are trying to target, and they are feeling stressed from the workout, then keep it up. If you have other pain you are not sure about, stop and move on to another exercise. If you feel pain in areas you think you shouldn’t, leave a comment below.
