Machines vs free weights

When it comes to using free weights or machines, which one is better for you, or can they work the same? Let’s start with machines and how they are being used for our bodies. If you are a first timer in the gym, and you don’t know what to do, machines can be very beneficial. The reason is because most machines have instructions on them so you can see how the exercises should be performed. This way you can learn movements, and your body can start to adapt to change. Using machines can help you get started building some strength. If you are using a cable machine, that can help control the movement being performed. Even if you have been working out for years, you should still use machines for certain exercises, or to switch the routine up to confuse the muscles. Now, when it comes to using free weights, how does that benefit the body. When you use free weights vs machines, you are using way more stabilizer muscles to perform an exercise. If you are performing a bench press, there is no cable attached, so you are engaging a lot more muscles to control where and how the bar moves. Generally, free weights are a lot better for you and can help build a lot more strength correctly. Does that mean you can’t build strength on machines? No it does not. But for the most part, once you understand and learn movements, try to stick with free weights, but also adding machines. Don’t always just go to machine to machine hoping for the best results. Free weights can help burn more calories, build more strength, define your body better, and just improve overall health. You do want to switch it up, that way you can confuse the muscles with different resistance and movements.
