Most of the time we don’t think about the long-term, as much as we do the short. Remember it is never too late to start exercising. One thing that a lot of people push for, is how to get results fast in the short-term. The problem is that if you lose the weight too fast, this can have negative effect in the future. A lot of us don’t think about this because we want the results soon. Of course, there are people who do lose weight fast and manage to keep the weight off. But, they must keep working out hard to maintain that status. A safe number to lose, and will help keep the weight off in the long-term, is about 1-2 pounds a week. This can fluctuate sometimes, from half a pound to 2 pounds.
Slow progression is the best for long-term results. You still should exercise, but the weight will tend to stay off longer the safer you do it. Why is it that we want to exercise in the first place or lose weight? We do it to stay healthy, but we also don’t think about how it really benefits us. The better you eat and more you exercise, you can reduce heart problems, obesity, diabetes, muscle problems, joint problems, and also live a longer life. The healthier choices we make every day, every week, and throughout the years, the more you will reduce the bad fats in your body. Remember no matter what age you are, it is never too late to change your life.
