How to continue to eat healthy, even on the weekends!

raw foodIs it okay to have a cheat meal? Of course, but to an extent. You should not have cheat meals seven days a week, maybe once or twice to mix things up, if you choose too. Also, there should be no “cheat days” where all day is whatever you feel is good. Is eating healthy hard? Yes it can be, but you have to find food that will fit you but also is healthy. People will recommend to eat some weird vegetable, but you hate it. Well, don’t eat that vegetable and find something that you like, and still healthy. One of the best things to do in order to keep eating healthy, is to buy food in bulk. The second thing which a lot of people do, is to meal prep. Now, there are also many people who hate doing this, and it does get tedious. Sometimes you can cook a few days out, that way you can cook the food one time, and be set for a few days and not have to cook. Your cheat meals, if you have any, doesn’t have to be junk food, it can be a little more whole grains, or something good you like, maybe more carrots and hummus then usual.

One way not to eat unhealthy foods and snacks, is to throw everything out that is unhealthy in your home. For example: chips, candy, processed foods, foods high in sodium, high in saturated or trans fat, and also those deserts you love so much. Throwing unhealthy foods like this out, can be huge in helping you lose weight. You will even not crave that stuff as often once you do not have it. Will you sneak a little junk food once in a while? Yes, and that is fine, as long as it is not multiple times a week, or your late night snacks. Another major thing to avoid is fast foods. Sure, a lot of people do not even get it, but some people will have it a few times a week, or when their family or friends take you there. The best way to even eat healthier at fast food places, is to get anything grilled, a salad with grilled chicken, no side fries, and just water. So this means no fried food, cheese burgers, mc flurries etc.

When it comes to the weekend, most of us want to relax and enjoy whatever food we choose. Think about eating healthy of more a lifestyle choice then a job. You do not want to eat really good all week and then take a break on the weekends. There is always the question that, “oh well as long as you are burning more calories than you are eating, it shouldn’t matter, right?”. Wrong, because the healthier you eat, the better your body will perform, sleep, work, and exercise. Eating healthier will, especially in the future prevent health issues, heart disease, obesity, and even high blood pressure. Even if you think working out while eating anything will not do anything in the future, it can. So when it even comes to the weekend, try to choose healthier choices, for yourself.
